It’s May and the sun is shining so when better for a photoset of some of my favourite pictures from Tromsø in February. Tromsø is easily the most photogenic place I’ve ever been and I put so many of them on Instagram for so long that I couldn’t imagine sharing this photoset in any shape other than square.
The harbourfront as seen from the top of the mountain opposite.
Going up the mountain on the cable car.
The Northern Lights, captured by my little pocket camera.
Excuse my distressed face. This is the only picture of me from the entire trip.
My street, high up on Tromsø hill.
Tromsø Island as seen from the mountain.
The Northern Lights and Tromsø’s light pollution as seen from a reindeer sled.
The view across to the mountains from my street.
The spectacular view across the snowy mountaintop.
Tromsø Perfect Harbour.
Tromsø Frozen Harbour.
Toasting marshmallows over a campfire.
About to get our wings de-iced before we take off for Oslo.
The Hurtigruten.
Bolle and hot chocolate for our fika break.
The hotels and bars opposite the Hurtigruten dock at twilight.
Spectacular icebergs down at the industrial part of the harbour.
Tromsø bridge and harbour.
The harbour, the mountains and the beautiful view.
Arriving at Tromsø airport.
The views around Tromsø from the air.
The sun finally comes out while we’re out snowshoeing.
Tromsø bridge and mountains and view in a snowstorm.
This is what my hair looks like after being in plaits for three days.
And finally, some more spectacular Northern Lights.
