Yes, I know fire hydrants might be an odd thing to decide to do a photoset on but Reykjavik has one idiosyncrasy that I love. It has red and yellow fire hydrants scattered around the entire city and it seems to be a national pastime to draw faces on them. And I can’t resist taking photos of every single one I come across. I’m not 100% certain because these were all taken at different times between July 2012 and August 2015 but judging by the backgrounds, these are eleven different hydrants.
Look at this! One without a face!
And here’s one without a face, presumably because it’s freshly painted. Oh, to put a camera on it to see how long it took for it to acquire a face!
