I love the Myvatn Nature Baths, the famous Blue Lagoon’s slightly less well-known northern cousin. It’s exactly the same water, blue and milky and it crackles if you stick your head underneath but the Nature Baths sit on the side of a lovely orange active volcano and although I can’t capture it with my camera, it has a view over Lake Myvatn and the plains of the north-east.

Welcome to the Nature Baths!

The Nature Baths consist of a big blue pool and a trough-like hot pot.

And finally, because I happened to take my video camera in with me – my day at the Nature Baths last year.
