It’s a little bit early – and yet, is it? Resolutions shouldn’t be something you list on a whim at five to midnight on December 31st.
I used to make a lot of resolutions and I could keep them pretty well because mostly I chose realistic ones. However, I also chose a lot of them.
I’m only going to make four in 2017.
- I want to continue learning and improving my Norwegian. I’m doing ok so far and that feels good. Also, Norwegian is a language I can actually make use of.
- I want to finish writing and self-publish the non-fiction Arctic adventure book. I’m working on the fifth draft and I planned to have it finished and on its way by this weekend at the latest. I don’t think it’s going to happen.
- I want to start writing fiction again – I have vague plans for a fantasy novel set in Tallinn. I don’t think I’m any good at writing fiction so I have no plans to actually publish it but it would be nice to have something resembling a finished fantasy novel sitting around.
- I want to go out and do more. I have weekends and evenings and you can do some fun stuff in those. I want to do A Thing at least twice a month. Take more advantage of having the sea so close by when the weather warms up.
